One Tough Truck

Million Mile Frontier
Brian Murphy piled on up to 400 miles daily driving his 2007 Nissan Frontier from his McHenry County home (10 miles from the Wisconsin border) to Geneva (Chicago) for deliveries into the city. He uses the truck for work as an independent delivery driver. Murphy set out to reach 1 million miles when he bought the Frontier in June 2007. Murphy hit the million-mile mark on Jan. 2, 2020. Among the most impressive aspects of Murphy’s achievement is that he did it while driving almost entirely in Chicago traffic and weather. His truck still has its original four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission. “I didn’t even wax it once and it still looks good!”

NISMO Frontier & Her Crew Conquer
Nissan’s Team Wild Grace, comprised of co-captains Sedona Blinson (left) and Lyn Woodward (right), had a strong top-4 finish at the 2020 Rebelle Rally behind the wheel of a 2020 Frontier loaded with NISMO off-road parts. “We’ve never tried something like this before, but the Nissan Frontier gave us the confidence to tackle any terrain in front us. It’s a reliable truck made to do truck things well.”

The all-women’s 2021 Rebelle Rally, the longest off-road rally in the United States, features eight days of fierce competition across more than 1,500 miles of Nevada, Arizona and California desert. It begins Oct. 7 at the Hoover Dam in Nevada and culminates Oct. 16 in California’s Imperial Sand Dunes. “Nissan has been a staple of off-road endurance racing since the 1960s, and the Hardbody racers of the ‘80s remain some of the most successful and recognizable trucks ever,” said Michael Soutter, vice president, Nissan Aftersales, Americas. “We’ll be rooting for Team Wild Grace at the 2021 Rebelle Rally, proving what the all-new Frontier and new NISMO Off Road parts can do over some of America’s harshest landscapes. This truck has winning in its DNA.”
